If so, ANY feedback is appreciated. I've already checked the archives but cannot find any feedback from person(s) with the RUF system.
Thanks,
MC

John,
A friend is shopping for PSS-9 and is unsure weather to buy the RUF version or Bilstein kit. We know the RUF kit is revalved but don't know if it's more or less aggressive, progressive, stiffer, softer, etc... Past posts have also suggested the RUF kit may contain different springs. We DO know the RUF system comes with RUF sway bars; non-adjustable up front and adjustable in the rear.
Just wanted to know if anyone had more info. or actual experience with the RUF system.
Matt

There were a few guys on the 993 TT board who had the RUF pss9 system. Did you try searching over there?

I have talked to Weissach about the RUF kit and they definitely have both different valving and different springs. The kit comes with a RS sway bar (yes, not a RUF one but Porsche stock) as well as their own design of hats. Another difference is the warranty ; the warranty is not lifetime like the US origin PSS-9's but one year. We have a few club members here in Vancouver, one who has his TT equipped with the RUF suspension (as well as engine upgrades). He was nice enough to take me around the track and my only response is "Holy S**t!!" (sorry for the language).
I do not know if there are different kits for the TT.
Maybe its best to check with Stuart or Asgar at Weissach, who are Rennlist sponsor and a RUF dealer.
Cheers,
Mike

I have had the RUF PSS-9 suspension on my 1996 TT for a little more than a year. The shocks are re-valved Bilsteins but I'm not sure if the springs are different from the straight Bilstein version for a TT. Also, Weissach only recommends a rear adjustable sway bar (2 holes) for the TT. During later discussions with Steve Weiner, from whom I purchased rear hats, he stated that both front and rear adjustable RS sway bars are required to fully exploit the suspension. While I have never driven a 993 with the Bilstein setup, a friend who has a 1997 C2S claims that even on the firmest setting, the Bilstein system is too soft on the track.
