Smile "Homey" for Fabspeed...as always...

A few months ago, I took off the X pipe and cat delete pipes from my 993, needing to drop a few HP to run in a weight/HP class....boy did that suck, reduced power (239 HP) and the sound out of my Fabspeed Maxflows was definitely thwarted. As pr usual Martin behavior (short sighted) , I had already sold the X pipe and cat delete pipes, so no choice but to buy another set from Fabspeed, and my sales guy Anthony.

I won't bore you with the excellent customer service from Fabspeed, the classy fit and finish of the product, etc. I am a Fabspeed "Homey" so you may not believe me anyway. BTW this X pipe and cat delete pipes are black ceramic coated...look evil. It's extra but worth it.

So I ordered my new X pipe and cat delete pipes from Anthony, and all was installed the other day. Next assignment, back to the dyno that had given me 239 HP. If you read Fabspeed's ad on this product, they claim an increase of 8 HP, and additional torque....now here is the good news, my car dyno'd at 255.33 HP, at the highest of 3 runs, 251 for the first run, 252 for the third run. My racing Club insists that we live with the largest #. OK, I'll take the largest, 255.33 HP, that's a 17 HP increase, double the Fabspeed claim. Whom doesn't appreciate a company, in any sort of business, the under-promises, and over-delivers.

I can FAX the dyno sheet to any and all that are interested...my scanner is on the fritz. email me your request mfschacht@gmail.com

As we can see on the Fabspeed web site, claims (verified by me) for the X pipe and cat delete pipes are as follows.

FEATURES:
Fits all Porsche 993 Carrera vehicles (1994-1998)
Adds 8 whp and 19 ft-lbs of torque greatly improving throttle response
Saves 11lbs from rear of the car
Constructed from CNC mandrel-bent T304L stainless steel for maximum quality, performance and durability
Simply bolt-on installation; no cutting or welding required
Includes all required hardware and gaskets
All Fabspeed performance products are backed by the Fabspeed Lifetime Limited Warranty
Optional 02 Spacers available to minimize C.E.L occurrences (Primary Catbypass)
DISCLAIMER: The original factory ball-joint clamps must be re-used when installing Fabspeed exhaust products on all 993 Carrera vehicles.

Default Ceramic Coating

Hey Martin, did Fabspeed do the ceramic coating, or did you have that done somewhere else?

Default Fabspeed did ....

...the ceramic coating...it's black and looks stealthy. Black with the 200 cell cats, the car could probably pass a California "visual" smog inspection...and note I have passed CA smog with the Fabspeed 200 Cell cats.

Default How much ???

Standing behind a car on the dyno is a "sick" experience. You'd swear it's going to hop right off the dyno...six (6) straps are holding it down.

For the X pipe and cat bypass pipes, or for the coating? The pipes list for $750 I believe....where can you get 16 HP, dyno proven, for $750, you can't!!! That's why I bought the Fabspeed set up, hoping their claims were true...they are!!!

I really don't know how much for the coating, my wife ordered the X pipe set up and the black ceramic coating, both inside and out, as an early Christmas present...now that is some wife!!!!

If you want the details, contact Anthony DiPompei at Fabspeed; he is my sales guy. Tell him Martin referred you.

Well done ... is the rear bumper removal required for installation?
