Default Can anyone identify this exhaust tip?

I took this photo yesterday. Whatever tip that is, I think it would be a great improvement! It is hard to tell from the photo but it fills out the gap in the bodywork much more than the stock tip. Does anyone know what they are?

I did ask the owner how much he paid but forgot to ask for the manufacturer I think it was bought through the official Porsche network though...

The owner told me he paid US$ 608 for them! Is it just me or is that amazingly overpriced? I am going to ask a local here how much it would cost to get them welded and chromed (i.e. made from scratch)

Danny, do you mean these ones, the Gert is selling as "P93 Oval Exhaust Tips"?

They look similar but you can see from this pic that the one I saw is longer and has a 90 degree base, not an angled base like the one Gert is selling. Gert's one looks like it has a rounded edge on the tip. The one I saw has a straight-cut finish. They are very close though..

My tips look like the pics you posted not so like the pic from Gert. Maybe Gert's pic is at a bad angle...These tips were an option on the sticker of the coupe so I know they are original. Now that the coupe has the supercups on, the tips migrated to the Cabrio. They do look awesome. In a couple of days I will be able to take pics of the tips and I can sent them to you for you to see...

Graham,

They are the same. The ones Gert has a pic of are for wide body (thus the offset). The narrow body ones are straight through. The lip is not rolled. It is solid stainless.

They are expensive (circa $500 USD), but they are beautifully made and they increase the engine sound significantly as they tend to act like a trumpet.

Cheers

Hi Graham.

I got the "Large Ovals" from Gert last year. They are OEM Porsche and look great on the car. If you do a search there are some great pictures of cars with them on. I can't comment on the additional noise as I got RSRs fitted at the same time.

Cheers,

David

Here's a pic of mine.

I lucked out since the previous owner put them on. Had no idea how expensive they are until someone commented on 'em. The margins on these must be insane!

Not changing the topic completely........Would someone post a photo of the "Fabspeed" true oval tips on a widebody. I'm considering that as an option.

Those big ovals from Gert are very tempting.

Thanks

I ummmed and ahhhed for ages over what tips to get as the Big Ovals are so expensive. But they look so good! In the end I justified the additional expense on the tips by the saving that I made by fitting RSRs over virtually any other exhaust.

Cheers,

David

I noticed that on Gert's site, the oval tips are specified as 105mm wide. (See http://www.carnewal-europe.com/cpx_p93018.htm )

I just measured my standard tips and they seem to be ~105mm wide x ~65mm high. It doesn't seem as if the new ones would fill out the exhaust gap any more than my existing ones. Would someone mind measuring their 'large ovals'?

Here is a comparison between my tip and Rezal's tip:

Judging from this projection, my car needs a tip of around 120 x 92mm
