Boxster Red Interior on TT
I've never seen it in person and can't really tell from the pictures if I like it. It does have a certain James Dean feel to it...
Here's the reason for the Inquiry: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...tem=2427796754
Anyone know this car - located in Chicago.

That's Chestnut Brown. I'm a bit partial, as I have that in full leather in my cab. I believe TTs came with full leather as well.
I can post more pictures, but the photos on Ebay seem to represent the color well.
Happy hunting.

Chestnut Brown
Tech,
My car is very similar to the ebay example: silver exterior with a chestnut brown interior. I like it, because it reminds me of the classic 1950's Porsche color scheme, as you suggested.
The 993's had a few different "reds" available, e.g. "flamenco red" (quite orangish), the lipstick-colored "boxster red", and the burgundy-toned "chestnut brown". I chose the chestnut because it is a bit more subdued than the other offerings.

Tech,
"Pink", aye? You sure know how to hurt a fella!
According to a Porsche carpet swatch book recently sent to me by Rod Birch, the carpet color is PSL37, or "Castega".
Funny thing about pics - some make it look more brown, some pink, when in person it looks like a deep red.

Anir,
Let me rephrase - the carpet looks almost pink on the eBay TT - yours looks much better. Much deeper color rendition in your photo.
I'm going to pass on the eBay Turbo. I do like the fact that he's worked the engine pretty well and seems to be making substantially more power than stock. He's also a motivated seller so the opportunity for a great price (high 60's maybe) exists. Someone please buy this car and make me regret it!

I drove a 96 993 turbo that was silver with red interior (not sure which red, but I would have decribed it as "blood red") at CarsOn18.com in NJ back in February (2003)... they were asking for $59k with no blemishes on the carfax... I never did figure out why it was so cheap.
Anyway, the major takeaway for red interiors is that they look MUCH better in person than in photos.
But while I liked the red interior, I was concerned that it would wear on me eventually... who knows if it would have or not...

Your welcome Anir. Very nice color coordination with the GT3 seats. How long did you have to wait for those? Aren't they like a 3 month wait for sort of non-black colors??

Bob,
The wait was more like 8 months because chestnut brown is no longer used by Porsche on current production cars. Two sources in the U.S. said it couldn't be done, but good ole' Gert came through.
