My 993 and an introduction

I've been a lurker here for a few years and now that I'm a 993 owner I feel like an introduction is overdue. I initially joined Rennlist while living in Munich, it's where my love of Porsche an the 993 in particular flourished. There are quite a few well kept examples in that city, and after seeing so many I realized that I must get one of my own! I've always been a car guy, my first words were "car car" which probably wasn't what my parents wanted. Since I was a kid, I've always loved the shape of the Porsche 911. I remember vividly seeing a 930 on my street when I was about 10 years old. It was white, and I knew then that the 911 is a special car.

We recently moved back to Canada after almost 2 years in Germany and I began looking casually for a good example of a 993. There's been a few that have come up for sale, but none have seemed right. Almost 18 months later I found this one on Kijiji of all places. The pictures weren't very good, and I wasn't sold on a white car with a blue interior but the owner seemed to be very passionate about the car. My wife and I decided to travel to Ottawa to see the car which is a 6 hour drive... one that our Acura's clutch died on sadly, but I digress.

When I saw the car in person I couldn't believe the condition of it. I doubt it has ever seen rain, it's clean enough to eat your dinner off of. It came with a lot of maintenance records and has a raft of new parts installed on it as well. I was met in Ottawa by Alex also a Rennlist member who is very knowledgeable and was great to meet and to spend the day talking 993s with. He was also kind enough to invite us over to his house and show us his ongoing 993 project.

I was sold! I made the deposit and 5 long weeks later we took the car in for a PPI where everything critical checked out and the deal was done. My dream had arrived! Since taking ownership, I've fixed a botched RS shifter install, fixed a sagging sunroof headliner, and fixed a parking brake switch malfunction. I'm now proud to say that I have a flawless example of my dream car!

I'm not a writer, but thanks for reading... hope to be here for a long time.
David

Car looks amazing and if your friend is ALex that we know as IXLR8 and you got his stamp of approval you got a good car

Is it just me, or maybe the Carrera side scripts are just egging me on, but I'm thinking a ducktail is looking awesome on that car.
