Once the seat is reinstalled, the only thing you can see is this:

A bit uncomfortable for my daughter as she can no longer get her feet under the seat, but good in the sense it is more or less invisible, Subwoofer is cheapo DSS, cost about 100 euro from memory. Fills the low frequencies well, the passenger seat is now a massage seat.... I also powered it from the seat harness, has pretty good gauge wire and high amperage fuse (I know the pro would have passed another fused power cable directly to the battery).

I believe any under seat unit should be ok, the thinner the better, this one does not allow 100% free movement of seat (hits the SW before reaching max low position, could be fixed by spacing up the seat a few millimeters)
So where is your amplifier located then?

I'm going to try and attach a super crude youtube video below showing my 9PdT switch in action .

Here is the video of the 9PDT switch in action
Nice demo. I dig the tunes sampled. It must feel like Christmas came early for you this year.

Spyder_Man --- I think Madridcab is saying that the subwoofer he has is self-powered (which is why he is saying he powered it through the power-seat-power-feed.)

Madrid-Cab --- I wonder if the subwoofer can be rotated 90 degrees so as not to intrude on the backseat rider's foot space?

Correct, drive speakers directly off the 210, and the sub has integrated amp. Very tight under that seat, so was not able to turn 90 degrees. Could probably move it half inch forward, but will not make much difference.

Thanks for the clarification, but I meant the amp for the rest of the speakers? Front trunk?

Sorry, the other speakers are driven directly off the onboard amp on the becker cr210, works quite ok. In my 968 cab I have a becker cr220, with separate amps, active filtering between sub and speakers, 2 10 inch subs in enclosures etc., and this very cheap set up in the 993 sounds as good at "sensible" volumes. The only thing done is good component speakers in the original speaker locations (with original grilles), and the active under seat sub.

Thanks for the info. There are so many different ways to overhaul a 993's stereo...

Many many moons ago since this thread ... back then I saw this post but never got to it I still have the 993 and I'm the only owner. I was just playing with the radio
while doing a little cleanup last weekend and I remembered about this and thought maybe it is time to get the BT thingie, after going thru posts like this found out they sell
a cassette adaptor BT5.0 which was worth the shot before opening up the radio and stuff. A bit over $10 so not a big loss if it doesn't work.
