Default WTB: 993 lugnuts

Anybody have some old 993 lug nuts kicking around?
I wish to delete the lock nuts on both of my 993s.

I could use 8 nuts if anybody got em?

Uh, same as any lug nut from the first 911 fitted with alloy wheels. Not to mention every front engined Porsche sports car (except the 4 lug 924s). Can't forget the 914/6 and 912, either.

I think I have some spare ones out in the garage. They are not great looking, but functional. You are talking the lightweight ones right?

Sorry to hijack OP's thread but I was swapping track wheels off this weekend and discovered the shop that mounted my tires cross-threaded one of my lug nuts. I almost always just bring wheels to the shop rather than the whole car but I made an exception this one time and now I am reminded why I have that rule. Fortunately the stud was not affected but the nut is junk.

Hopefully TCSRacing has already found what he needed, anyone still have a spare (or a couple) they'd be willing to part with?

Thank you!

I'll throw in my $.02 and say the Porsche Al ones are junk, and you should get some steel ones.

I use the light ones daily, but have steel open ended ones for track days. I also probably have some ugly extras laying around.

I am happy to say Emerald (E3Photo) was true to his word and a handful of lugnuts arrived in my mailbox along with some good advice on ensuring the mis-threaded nut didn't goober the stud -- Thank you very much! R/L is a great community, makes owning these cars an even better experience.

I ordered up a set of steels nuts from sunset in one of my care and feeding orders. I am ok with the weight gain. I really don't like the way the aluminum discolor

They do? Please elaborate - if you use a good padded socket, I find they can take a lot of abuse before they change color ...

Cheers,

Mike

I bought new ones to replace the locks. And within a years time try were no longer black, looking more like dark brown. I only use a 6 pt socket and a breaker bar. Now I use my impact wrench and a socket.

I should add that I used the same pinnacle or megs gold car wash to clean the wheels.
