Man, just got up - was totally bushed last night. I was in the shop around 8:30AM with Allan and finished around 10:30PM with Rob C. -> and we set a World Record for pinning - 18 cars! , as well as raising over $500 for charity! Totally awesome and many thanks to many people who helped out - will post a seperate thread on the pinning in a bit, need to get some breakfast and finish off yet another car.
BTW, we processed 18 cars for pinning in under 7 hours - the challenge to break this record travels with the tool, so the gauntlet has been dropped!
Cheers,
Mike

Lots of neat cars that attended. Would've been nice to join in on the party but I'm waayyyy outta the area. A little impatient also. Made a quick jig so I could do mine before going to "Werks" friday. 1-1/2" X 1/2" PVC tee, 1/2" X 1/4" brass red. bushing & 1/4" X 1/8" bush. Don't laugh, it worked!

My first BBQ...good times. Thanks for the hospitality/generosity Mike. My first BBQ where the host invites a bunch of people over and then spends the ENTIRE day working on their cars for free! That's how you give back to the community. Good on you Mike. I left a box of beer for ya so drink up and enjoy.
Mike in his element
Just drillin' all day long...
I won't duplicate all the 993 pics already posted but this 964 was nice.

Great event Mike, at the beginning of the day I didn't know I would become a small part of Porsche lore (ie. record effort). Despite the small issues of broken drill bits and the relentless "master of your domain" jokes, we really had a workable production line. Too bad I had the spectre of BC ferries hanging over my head (by the way I almost drove directly onto the boat), it would've been good to see them all done. Good seeing everybody...hope to see y'all next year. Tony

Twenty three 993, two 930, one 964 Turbo, and a 997 show up in Mike J's annual BBQ. Big thanks to Mike to host the BBQ and the crew to make this record breaking tie rod pinning event happen. Nice to see all fellow rennlisters in the event as well.
Mike, unfortunately your original plan to work less and talk more didn't work out very well.
Here are some photos to capture the event.

Mike thanks for organizing and hosting another great MikeJ annual event - big bonus for the $ raised for charity too.
I'm going to boldly say that has to be a new record for tie rod 993 pinnings that will be extremely challenging to beat!
We didn't manage to get out for a different photo shoot location as originally planned, but the setting at the event was more than perfect. You can see all the 993s lined up for the tie rod pin.
And thanks also to Kevin, some of us were lucky enough to get some seat and driving time to many I heard a childhood dream car - a beautiful black/black 965 3.6 Turbo (Bad Boys).
Enjoy the pics!

"Twenty three 993, two 930, one 964 Turbo, and a 997 "
and I spy at least one 911 not mentioned. Official tally update please!
You guys are lucky to have Mike in the community. What a cool event.

One of our local guys, I do not think he is on the list. Definitely a Porsche nut, has this car (which I have put wrenches to), and an assortment of 993's and other examples. I think he always wanted this particular car, with the 3.6, and managed to get it last year - it needed some TLC though, so after some mechanical work and paint work, it's getting better and better. Still a bit of tuning left on this old style fuel injection - tricky stuff.
Cheers,
Mike
