Apparently it seems to be a big problem for 993s in all climates.

Take care,
I think that will have a lot to do with location-if it is an AZ car, may not be an issue. It wasn't on my '95, which has been in SD all its life.

Mine was moderately pitted, then I took a small rock that made a six-inch crack. My insurance agent (State Farm) pushed hard to get me to use only Safelite. I took it to the local dealer (Walter's in Riverside) to be sure I got a genuine Porsche windshield and gaskets. They called in an installer they assured me is experienced with 993s (could even be Safelite). I know Walter's will stand behind it if there is a problem. $1500 all in.

I do have a Safelite windshield in my Lexus, no problems so far...

Could be true or not depending on the cars prior residency...I am in Scottsdale, AZ....my car's history is CA and Atlanta.....So....should the window replacement ever rear it's ugly head....I hope climate has been gentle to my Silver Scooter...
