Nice! At risk of being redundant, but that's an amazing feat to do it in such a short amount of time .. and a week to spare!

So, you fly into L.A. with a HUGE box of bits and bobs for them to finish up the details with, get it sorted and then jump in the car and drive to Monterey?

Since you have changed the suspension and lowered the car, make sure they send the car out for a proper alignment before you take delivery .. a misaligned 993 can produce very unpredictable handling, so a cheap bit of insurance. I'm sure there are a few alignment shops near L.A.P.D's facilities.

Here is a wild guess, was the 33rd 356 Speedster produced in 1955 the first white one?

That's interesting because all of the photos I found of Dean's Speedster had number "23" on it.

Blue TTop, maybe TwinTurbo959 has the backstory because I think you have the correct answer.

Speaking of James Dean, Ben be sure to drive past the James Dean memorial on your way north to Monterey. You could always see if on one of the event drives, but it will be swamped with people and cars then.

WE HAVE A WINNER!!!!!

Yes, this is a tribute..... "Dream as if you'll live forever. Live as if you'll die today." - James Dean

So, Blue TTop you win! Please PM me with your size polo, Ladies or Mens, Color polo (i'll try to match as close as possible) and color of "speedster" stitching.

So, this car here will wear the numbers “33” and racing class “F”, along with the Mobil 1 Red Pegasus decals. These numbers and symbols were present on James Dean 356 that he raced successfully in 1955
on March 26-27 (numbers “23F”),
on May 1-2, and May 30 (both numbers “33F”)
When he raced with numbers "33F" he was very competitive and really showed his true skills..... this was all before he decided to get the infamous 550 Spyder.

below is the proof used to make and match the numbers and logos....

-Ben

PS Jaeger also figured this out.... but he was disqualified from winning already
