Default Ducktail Dilemma

Very productive week : PSS10's, Walrod bushings, new tie-rods, SSK with Rothsport shifter all installed (thanks Darin@FD!!). Wow..what a difference these upgrades make to the car!

With enthusiasm at its peak, I decided to take yesterday afternoon to "rough install" my new-to-me ducktail recently purchased from a fellow rennlister (thank you for the full package, great deal and great service!).

Now I'm torn!

Love the retro, clean look of the duck and have always wanted one, but the GT wing seems to have grown on me recently and now I'm not sure which one I like.
(Of course, I always have the option to keep both... :-) )

Honestly I don't think either options suit the car. Stick with the factory decklid! Much cleaner IMO!

Otherwise beautiful car!

Keep it simple, duck tail or stock deck lid with painted grille(s). IMHO large tails especially inappropriate on cabs.

I would go with a plain deck lid, not a fan of tails on cabs.

It's your car, so the one that you like best should prevail.

Personally, I'm generally not a fan of tails on cabs.

I like the ducktail but not the gt2 wing, that's suited for the GT2

The GT2 wing is overkill. Teenager/tuner overkill. However a cab can wear the aerokit wing well when paired with the proper wheels.

The ducktail is romantic, but just not at home on a 993.

It's a cab, so any tail makes you look like a poseur. If you want people to think you're driving a race car that goes so fast you need downforce at the rear, at a minimum you have to start with a coupe.

I have to agree - no tail on cabs! Stock suits best.

Thanks to all for your feedback.
Clearly one of the great things about 993 drivers is that we all see the beauty of the car in our own ways!
For me it was that unmistakeable engine sound and the "sexy hips". My personal opinion is that the ducktail enhances the already sleek lines of the car, and maintains that retro look I am looking for. (cab or coupe)
Now that its rough fitted, I'll start the prep process for paint...maybe if y'all get to see her in the flesh it may change your minds! :-)
