For those of you that have run out of projects and still have money to burn, here is a chance to build a custom set of New Balance model 993 shoes in colors to suit your taste or complement your car. The Naval Academy issues a pair of gray ones to every midshipman. We call them go-fasters.

I've had a couple pairs of these and they are pretty comfortable.

But do any of you guys actually run in these things?

Anyone else here subscribe to the belief that running shoes (in modern form/high heal rise) are the worst thing that ever happened to the human foot and running?

saw these NB 996's in a shoe store in Manhattan last Spring, no 993's. Didn't know you could still have some 993's built.

Gulf blue & orange FTW!!!

NBs are good shoes too. Better than the Nike craps that actually hurt your feet when running.

I don't know about the performance but the 996 is the better looking model this time.
