There is 3 911's in the stable which is the iris blue targa, Dunkel blue and this diamond blue metallic, also in the stable besides the 993's are 4 964's a 997.1 carrera S and a 997.2 GT3 the sickness is BAD
Ha, i also have an 86 dunkel blau, with cashmere sports seats, blue carpets and blue dashboard!!!
Only difference is that my fuchs are factory painted in champagne.

Targa's are fun as well
Btw, I painted the fan on the Dunkel Blau in Riviera Blue
Here's my '86 M491 in meteor gray metallic over grau grun leather. Picture credit goes to the car's previous caretaker,
a wonderful gentleman from Michigan. It now sports 17" Cup I replicas.
I don't drive it as much now that I DD the 993. Drove it for a couple of weeks while the windshield and frame
were repaired on the 993. I immediately realized why the early cars are so much fun to drive. More raw. More nimble.
Rack and Pinion steering. This car has a Bursch (?) exhaust that I imagine is comparable to the Fister IIIs.

FINALLY!!! Someone that correctly painted (although not technically correct since its painted) a fan without painting the hub. That is a huge pet peeve of mine! Most people just paint the whole thing and call it done. I have even gone so far as to drill out the aluminum rivets and replate the hub and then properly re-rivet it all back together. Note the correct coloring of the fan...that in itself was tricky but turned out exactly as I wanted.
To the OP, I have gone the 993>early 911>993 route also. In fact, I built one of the sweetest longhoods (much faster than my 993) and enjoyed it but went back to the 993 and haven't looked back! And it was even my first car. Anyway, that is my $.02. Here is a thread on the build of the longhood if anyone cares. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/porsc...ect-lilly.html
