Here's an M491
Here's my '86 M491 in meteor gray metallic over grau grun leather. Picture credit goes to the car's previous caretaker,
a wonderful gentleman from Michigan. It now sports 17" Cup I replicas.
I don't drive it as much now that I DD the 993. Drove it for a couple of weeks while the windshield and frame
were repaired on the 993. I immediately realized why the early cars are so much fun to drive. More raw. More nimble.
Rack and Pinion steering. This car has a Bursch (?) exhaust that I imagine is comparable to the Fister IIIs.

To the OP, I have gone the 993>early 911>993 route also. In fact, I built one of the sweetest longhoods (much faster than my 993) and enjoyed it but went back to the 993 and haven't looked back! And it was even my first car. Anyway, that is my $.02. Here is a thread on the build of the longhood if anyone cares.
