I personally think the Bird armrest is an aberration against the 993 GODS, could their be a more hideous accessory to install on our 993's? I might agree functionally they are good, but the styling looks like they belong in a 1980's Dodge truck...

Listen to Quadcammer! Jeeeezzzz. There are much worse aftermarket accessories that take away from the 993's character. The Bird console isn't one of them. It's more of a compartment than an actual armrest.

You're right, now that I really look at it my car does look like a Dakota.

 

If you don't like the look of bird or truly believe that a true sports car shouldn't have a cup holder the Porsche OE solution looks good IMHO. Too bad its currently $1500.

Was the twin center armrest OEM, ala the Tequipment catalog of the days? The twin version looks the part of the 993 interior where the single massive sized Bird armrest not so much. Hardly offensive in size, but I get the Dakota truck reference. GLWS

IIRC and its been awhile,,, the OE twin armrest could not be coupled with the "Racing sport seat" hardback seat option; Game over.
