Wow, on price
Cool interior

At those prices, a few or more air cooled turbos would be a better investment

I know that there are some big fans of the 959.. and yeah, it's really fast and really rare. But, it's just not pretty... IMO

Default Year 2002 at Werk 1 ... a few 959s in for service

Many 959s were returned to Werk 1 for service... here's a flock of cars.

That' my silver 993 is in the foreground, notice the 959 on the rack.

The 911s to come, the 964, 993, etc. were all greatly influenced by the tech of the 959 program.

$800,000 seems like a boat load of dough to spend on 1980s nostalgia.. You could buy an 8 ball, lease a redhead for the weekend and a suite at a W Hotel for much, much less.... So eighties nostalgia!

Hey,,, to each his own. "Mama may have, Papa may have. But God bless the child that's got his own, that's got his own"

great car for those with more money then they can spend….

Id be just as happy with a 993 turbo. For $800k id be disappointed unless i grew up in that generation or something?

This. Also, that interior is hideous IMO. Not saying I wouldn't take one, but they really don't do it for me.

Loopy pricing... but it certainly makes me tired of the Federal Reserve refrain "no inflation here, folks, move along".

I'd probably seek out one of the 180+ 993 TurboS out there before I'd lay out that much for a 959 though it does carry the lines of the TurboS underneath the extended bodywerk!!

I would get a 73RS.

I really can't see a 959 being worth more than high 4's, even after the recent run up in pricing

And for those that only want speed and performance, the 996tt is a far superior car and beneficiary of the 959 for under 50 grand

Didn't you read the OP? They go for almost $800k, not high 4's. Those with the money get to vote what they're worth.

I seriously doubt the buyer of this 959 was thinking about the best performance bang for the buck.

I think someday this selling price will look like a bargain.
