Swap out a switchblade remote lately?
Looking for a price check on recent conversions to the slimmer key light remote. I see prices all over the place for the housing and key light thingy.
Anyone done this recently? What did you pay for the new remote?
My local dealer wants $130 for the remote and programming. I don't need the programming though, so should be less.

And a little less here, http://sonnenporscheoemparts.com/par...?siteid=215405
993-618-959-12 remote housing = $53.41
944-538-041-00 key cap = $19.46

Way to go Monkey Brain... and I mean that with full respect.
I just ordered (Thursday) a lighted key and a FOB shell from Sunset . It will cost me $30 more because I didn't ask. That's the price for "thinking" you know what you are doing. Suncoast had a kit that was priced about the same as Sunset. I already had a quote with Sunset so I just let them supply the FOB and key.
I have all the original keys with my car (2) switch blades and the valet but one of the switch blade cases was cracked and not very rigid and the other was missing the internal clock spring. So I made due with what I had and made a perfectly good switch blade key and am replacing the other with the lighted key and FOB.
If anybody has any switch blade key parts I might be interested...
You did good coming to Rennlist and asking... they saved you some coin.

I ended up destroying the switchblade but it was such a goofy thing I have zero regrets. No need for programming etc...
Super happy with the swap.

The guts on the switchblade are the same as the slimmer 944 fob housing, you can buy just the housing and the older key head for your key or even buy a color 944 style fob housing on eBay. My key fob is yellow, so you can guess what color my car is.
That being said, Im not a big fan of the Porsche price point for the slim plastic fob that used to be priced @ $24.xx till Porsche found that the switchblade design was bulky, less than robust, and one of the quickest changes 993 owners made.
