So the next stage of face lift continues:

Rear end is up in the air:

can you guess which direction this is going?

typical rusted bumper braces ends

blasted, primed and later painted

mufflers are out. Interesting discovery is that someone performed early RSR mod.

Mufflers were blasted and Hi-temp powdercoated with new jewels to go along with them:

While pretty much everything was out, all of the tins were cleaned up, reshaped. Did not like to see some of the light surface rust, on lt & rt rail ends and lower rail pinch welds. So, all was spot blasted, cleaned, prepped and painted. Didn't take too many photos:

While waiting for misc nuts, bolts, etc.....dog got a new chew toy:

Old and the required new part:

Much cleaner now:

Brake dust shields were blasted and redone. Fronts were powder coated with a little flare:

Calipers removed and cleaned up....

After stripping and hi temp refinish of hub centers, new HPS pads, IV lines connected for fresh life.
Clutch line bled at the same time and fresh transmission fluid.

Fronts are finished with new SS lines

Rears are finished along with exhaust back in:

That was fun....well sometimes. But the rewards are great!
Knowing the safety component- brakes are now top notch, transmission fluid changed and it seems to shift smoother- using Motul gear oil.

Even with bypass pipe, plenty of heat .....

Exhaust sounds sooooo good on WOT. No drone at all....just pure pleasure.

Well, now it's time to drive it and start focusing on suspension options as it will be the next step.

Very cool project. How did you blast the rusty parts?

Overall it didn't take too long, even though I wish there were more days in a week, and more hours in a day.
3M abrasive wheel pad did most of the metal cleaning so not to make the metal thinner. Other tight spots, spot media blasting, and scraping. Working kind of like a dentist to minimize the area of repairs.
