Default 993 new tires and alignment !

I just replaced my tires on my 993 C2.
When I bought the car in May it had 255 Michelin Sport in the back and 205 Michelin Exalto in the front (bad tires). Apparently previous owner could not find the right size for the front... Or whatever..

My car understeered a lot and the front handling lacked confidence...
In the back it was super sticky and difficult to oversteer...
I hated the handling !!

so I replace the tires with Michelin Pilot Sport and the front I put 225 instead of 205... I am familiar with this size as it was in my old 993...

I also asked for alignment : VERY IMPORTANT !!

I knew that my car pulled on one side so the steering was fixed (easy)...

BUT the problem was in the rear too... It had 5 degrees of toe-in instead of factory recommended 0.5 degrees !!!!!!

This was fixed...

Amazing equipment... I had a database with all cars from the last 25 years...,
It just pulls up the data and compares with the sensor...
I think they are laser sensors..

Now the car handles much better !! No understeer, nice oversteer = fun !!

That sure looks like Cup 2 17'' wheels, isn't 225 at the front the recomended tire size in the manual?

And it's a beautiful car too! What year and colour is it?

)
17" wheels wore 205/50-17 front and 255/40-17 rear from the factory, narrow body or wide body.

Having said that, many people run a 225/45-17 on the front wheels without any issues.
