Eurotrio: intro & progress
Greetings!
So after lurking on this this forum for a long...long time, and months of searching for "the car" it is time to join in and say hello.
Another 993 was found and now in the hands of Eurotrio enthusiasts. As close as possible to OEM+ status as possible.
1995 C2 45K miles
The journey began by flying out on Friday 13th during a wonderful winter storm to a cold and snowy Chicago Land. After finalizing the transaction it was time to go.
Accompanied by my wing-man and co-driver, my son, we started the 700+ miles drive back home.
Very fortunate to have the weather on our side as there was no snow and only a few drops of rain.
Initial verdict:
Some said that was crazy. Well........whatever. You only live twice.
....
It didn't take long and the car was partially gutted and cleaned up:
Lost several pounds/kilograms of non functional stereo system:
Minor issues are being worked out and freshened up and the journey continues:
First batch of misc health care products:
Waiting on Cat bypass and deciding on what suspension setup to go with.
So, thank you for all the technical info and opinions.
Safe travels,
Eurotrio

Nice looking car! Congrats.
Is your interior all black? If so, do you know if it is original? A check of the option sticker in the trunk will tell you. If it is, that is pretty rare and a nice combo

Thanks guys.
Yes, trying to do things "right". As with all prior and current cars, going after OEM+ look and function with focus on dependable perormance. Nothing too crazy.
Will take some time deciding on suspension setup for spirited mountain drives...aka Tail of the Dragon for those who are familiar.
Yes, the interior is all original and listed in the build sheet as well as the Motor Sound Package.

That is rare. I have Blue Grey and Blue Black was probably # 1 of my choices but they are impossible to find. I have only seen maybe a handful on here in the last year or two. I think Cemoto has one.
I got to do the Tail of the Dragon on the drive home with my car. Exhilarating. I did it in winter between freezes so it was dead too. Had only two cars coming the other way. No bikes. Only had to pass the same minivan twice. He was kind enough to pull over twice. The second time after I had stopped to take a picture. It was so dead I pulled up next to him the second time and thanked him! lol

welcome, and nice car!
I have a question, maybe a stupid one..lol. In the first pic, u front wheels r chucked, and it looks like you're about to jack the car up. Your driveway has the same slope like mine, and I've never ventured to work on. Do you work under your jacked up car in the driveway?

Thanks for all of the comments guys.
JB 911: Funny you say that, my son was telling me it was a rare color combo. As for the Dragon, it is a great road especially in the off-season. Can't wait to see how this handles it.
TRINITONY: Yes, in the picture the car was raised with a jack to clean the undercarriage, however I usually play it safe and work on level ground with jack-stands.

Wow congrats on your purchase. It really is a rare and beatiful color combo. Looks like the car is already lowered. Are you thinking going with something adjustable?

Car is currently on H&R springs and stock shocks......considering going to Bilstein HD/ H&R springs. Really don't think coilovers are worth it since they would be set and never changed again....

Finally had more time to play in the garage. Removed the throttle body and both intake manifolds. So now all is clean including: Mass Air Flow Sensor, Idle control sensor, throttle body.
The throttle body was not really gunked up at all. Just some expected black residue. Now cleaned up.
Inside of the intake manifold did have some oil/dirt. Is that expected?
So, since I am this far in, what else should be done?
Car has 45K, runs well...and no oil leaks.
Seems like it would be much easier to replace the ignition wires, but is it really needed?
So I pulled one of the plugs. To replace or not?
Cheers!
