Who has the OEM batteries in their keyless entry remotes? Is it worth the extra money?

This thread has spiraled into redicularity! Hilarious!

Asked Jimi Ellis Porsche to program a third remote and change the disc battery for a new.
I swear there's an actual Porsche part number and it's / was $23.00 big ones to boot.
The dealership had picked up and returned the car to the house as I was out of the country.
Reviewing the invoice weeks later prompted a call to the service mgr ... I asked how "****ing" stupid do you have to be to invoice a customer, any customer $23.00 for a $.98 cent battery?
The mentality of these dealership business's....

I changed my battery but I'm keeping the original because my car will be worth more when I come to sell it.

Man - am I glad I saw this thread.... I just went out to the garage & customized my Interstate; just in case one of the cool guys at cars & coffee asks to see my battery, I can now show it with pride and without fear of ridicule!

Sometimes I just pull my battery out and look at it while having a drink.

Dude... Still have the orange protective shield huh? You know that's just like running with an engine tray, right?

Well, in that case, Cactus, we don't have to worry about you drinking and driving!

Hey guys, I am new here so I am a little freaked out by this. I just went to the garage and the battery is NOT OEM Porsche! Is it ok to drive it to the dealership to have them change it? Or should I call a tow truck?

I would delete this post immediately. If you ever go to sell your car the buyers might search your old posts and see this and it could really hurt the value of your car.

I put the protective cover on when it is sitting out in my garage. I wouldn't want light, beer, or cigar smoke to come in contact with the positive terminal. I remove and detail the battery after every monthly "spirited" drive around the block to get the "juices" flowing.

When you are new, you never fail to turn over my starter.
Then, as you gracefully age, it gets harder and harder.

Some may lust for Interstate or Diehard or NAPA or Bosch.
But those aftermarket brands can never match your vent tubes, your beauty, your posh.

With your delicate plates of lead and delectable electrolytes of acid;
If you are not OEM, you break so many hearts and leave so many owners flaccid.
