Default Turbo convertible 993 in NC

Anyone rennlisters know anymore about this car or checked it out yet?

http://www.ebay.com/itm/261320164813?ru=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.com%2Fsch%2Fi.html%3F_sacat%3D0%26_from%3DR40%26_nkw%3D261320164813%26_rdc%3D1
A buddy of mine is very interested. I told him the title history would steer me away. Anyone done a turbo conversion and know what to look for? Right way would seem to be a drop in drive train from a 993tt.
Underside doesn't look that clean for a supposed show car. Few of the story items seem like red flags to me but my buddy just wants it to be fast and not be so bad that he couldn't sell it near that price if something happened. Again, everything I read just says dont bother but, he's not scared if its not repaired badly from a wreck.

I don't know if it's my screen, but under the car seems very dirty for a car that has less than 8k miles. Is it dirty due to oil leaks? I can't see well since I couldn't enlarge the pictures.

Personnally, if the PPI is good and the mileage can be certified, I'd buy it. Salvage title don't scare me. For sure, I would do a PPI and be on site when they do it since I would be scared the seller gave a "bonus" to the mechanic...

Why pay a turbo conversion and drive only 2,800 miles in 16 years??? That is suspicious...

I like how he says repeatedly it's a "200 mph car." Redline in 6th gear is only 186 mph. That's one way to do a sales pitch, I guess.

I'm sure there is one other person that would buy it from your friend. Where that person is, is anyone's guess.

Not worth the risk, IMO.

I would not buy that car with the thought of reselling it easily in the future. I wouldn't buy it period actually.

FYI, you can't just "drop in" a turbo power train to a NA 993. The turbo notor sits farther forward or back, I can't remember which.

I'm thinking they are in the position where the stock cat is, don't imagine there's much heat build up there. Was that car driven exclusively thru the coal mines for those few thousand miles? Holy hell is that underside dirty.

I would love to have the results from a knowledgeable air cooled mechanic who looked at it.

Would that 200 mph claim be with the top up, or down? Enquiring minds want to know...

You got to be kidding me...
You should let your buddy buy it so he can learn the definition of scam.

... well, 540 horsepower is more than a RUF Turbo R puts out with massive turbo's and an intercooler as big as a 1970's Buick. There's a REASON why the Turbo's rear quarters have to be bigger and that massive tail is on there .... I'd say from this shot under the chin that I found by giggling the vin on the interwebz that it spent a few of those miles in ground contact!
