The 9m Motec package was chosen for a variety of reasons other than looking for a performance increase with the stock engine, so to answer your question we are not expecting significant performance gains at this stage over and above a remapped Motronic installation.

OK guys time for the big reveal. We all believed that Iris Blue was not the right colour for a track day 993, so from a short list of Mint Green and Signal (Viper) Green you can now see which one won the casting vote. You like?
The interior is painted first on a caged shell because it is the most difficult area to paint as there are lots of hidden cavities which can hide dust that could blow out over the fresh paint when disturbed by the air from the spray gun. The rest of the shell is masked off for the interior paint, floor drain holes are pre-sealed with the factory "pennies", wiring holes are back masked with tape, likewise with heater and instrument holes.

That looks stunning.
I was following the build on the previous thread - great to see the project resurrected!
Amazing work as ever 9m and love seeing the process laid out. Thanks.

Looks fantastic.....I have read through the thread, so I do know about the customers need for a sunroof, but everytime I look at the car the inclusion of the roof still irritates me...that car will be so easier to sell on with an uncut metal roof.
It's great that the customer can personalise the car for his use, but there is a reason a sunroof doesn't go with a full welded in cage!

With that amount of work, cage & pretty spartan set-up, it makes absolutely no sense to me and is a shame as the car will look great otherwise.
Great color choise!

If we all agree to disagree about the choice of leaving the sunroof in, can we all promise not to mention the sunroof again? Pretty Please?
Next up, back on the spit for more seam sealant, full preparation of the primer underside and masking off the interior, all before rolling back into the booth to paint.

The primer of the outer panels is then wet-flatted in final preparation for colour. The masking paper will be contaminated with this process and will have to be removed and replaced before paint for obvious reasons.

Of course, the loose panels have to be prepared, primed and painted as well using the same approach as the shell. These were done in the booth right after the inside was painted.
