That's another scary thought. What your going to spend on a brand new nicely optioned cayman S, you can get a real nice 993TT. And what those 2 cars will be worth in 5 years is a scary thought if your considering the Cayman.

I always say this: "Just because it's technically a better sportscar, doesn't make it a better Porsche".

That being said, I'd own the hell out of a new Cayman... just wont ever mean as much as my 993

I had the opportunity to take out a new Cayman S while on a road trip....great car all around (my '98 C4S had a special trip to PFAFF Porsche near Toronto due to locked keys in the car.....both sets .....I swear it was my iPhone that set off the lock...I was on a road trip, both sets of keys, luggage, iPhone and my wallet on the drivers seat....long story short....rear window seal cut, window removed, keys retrieved, new seal...on the road again )........my son and I later took the new Cayman S out again....it's definitely a car I'd consider....then I saw the lines on the new 2014 Turbo...now if it only came with a manual transmission

993 more fun to drive.

You want to go on 500 mile road trips frequently, get a 5 series sedan.

I haven't driven the new Cayman but I love the old Cayman R. Definitely a car I would love to have.

I feel privileged to own a 1996 993 and a 2012 CR. Completely different cars. You can read my thoughts on these two models elsewhere. I love them both for what they are. The CR is very endearing in its own way.

+ 1 . . . so true. But....it wouldn't be mid-engine. A toss of the coin.
My wife's Boxster is kind of nice..

Cool that besides his ride being featured that RLer zwiggles made a cameo appearance, too. So did your brother's C4S, right (below)?

993 will not touch cayman S performance, but who needs that when you have the ICON of all 911s?

Indeed. One is iconic, the other merely perfect.

Yes that's my bro PY C4S. Other RLs were out that particular morning too, but these beautiful 993s made the article.

I mentioned this in another post...I am fortunate to have both a 993 C2S and a 991 C2S. Like with the 981 S the best way to explain the two is "Analog vs Digital"... truly apples to oranges. You have to really pick which one you want more than the other, or do the same as some of us and have both!
