Default I might skip my winter oil change - only 700 miles

I checked my shelf in the garage and realized I was out of the hard to find Mobil V-Twin 20W50. I then looked at last fall's odometer reading and realized I had only put on 700 miles. I might give it a miss this year

Me too. Only 600 miles so far. By the end of the driving season, December, I may have 700 miles.

WTF...I put over 700 miles on the car since Wednesday morning. Pathetic mileage year for me, all the damn suspension/alignment crap I went thru. Only put 3K on it so far this season.

Christ, at this rate, I'm gonna have to invest in high count horsehair brush's, and one of those inflatable bubble thingy's...I'm so ashamed

Well, on the bright side...I might still have my Carrera glasses from the eighties, and I think I put mothballs in the pockets of my Members Only jacket...so I might be ok still.

4 distinct seasons are nice (that is what we tell ourselves up here anyway )

I put on almost 5000 miles last year with my trip to Norcal. My 356A got most of the driving time this year but no long trips.

I too am pathetic this year. 1800ish miles on the 97 and 400ish on the 95. A few weeks to go before winter hibernation.

Change your oil annually at a minimum. Dont skip. Its inexpensive and can offset future problems. You want this car in 10 years? Right? 20+? Just change it!

700 miles...

I've put over 6000 on the turbo since April and about 1000 on the 993 since I got it two months ago. I smile every time I sit inside either of them. And I don't plan on taking them out of commission this winter either. Don't have the proper tires to drive them in the snow but if it's dry I'll be out and about.

I was told by my Porsche service advisor years ago that the factory recommended interval for 993s changed to every 2 years or 15,000 miles, so that is what I have done.

Still amounts to an oil change every 3000 miles. I don't see any reason why oil which sits in your motor for more than a year would go bad.
