In the hunt for a 993
Just sold a couple cars I'd had a while (NSX, Viper GTS) and another I had for just a year (Ford GT).
Now wanted to get a good fun car my wife and I can take on trips, drive daily if desired.
Looking for a C2S or C4S coupe, 6speed. Prefer sport seats, not required.
No black, silver (Polar is fine), red, or yellow.
Will accept stock or some suspension, exhaust mods ok. Mileage below 70k preferred.
Have looked here, AT, ebay. Hopefully an Rlister has a nicely maintained, documented example.
Thank you in advance for ANY leads, or PMs. Looking forward to getting back into a Porsche!

I keep having my head turned by 930s (am I getting panicky in Pcar pursuit?) but feel that may be too much of a 'vintage' step for regular usage. Thoughts?

indulge us with pics of the bb and pantera. i'm a huge fan of a clean pre-L example. as for the S, just be ready and know what you want - very competitive market out there right now.

I am clearly no photographer. Last image is in a little warehouse where I play cars, play the music too loud, get very dirty hands, tell my wife I was doing something productive. Seems to work. Porsche would be driven more than parked I'm guessing!

Thanks for that! I had noticed it in RL classifieds also, but nice to see the other photos. Looking forward to a rewarding hunt.

Much bigger choice too.

great to see a bb in black, instead of the standard red/black. looks extremely nice!! probably the best flat 12 they built, imo. love the campagnolo wheels on the L - looks very clean and original. nice!
keeping these 2 out of the 4 was the wise move, but the NSX is still sexy today. i see several around my neighborhood in north dallas and they still look contemporary on the roads. good luck in your hunt for a WB.

Anyway, we're heading to Ft. Worth this weekend (daughter at TCU) and I've been scouring for a Pcar to show up "nearby" to ostensibly lighten my looking/travel load. If anything pops up in your area, my daughter would be delighted (right, she's 19!) to have dear ol' dad make an impromptu visit.
Back on topic, I agree with 6 gun on the 'modern' aspects of the 993 as a good combo. Keep your eyes peeled people!

Okay, here's one for the price-watchers I couldn't discern by searching -
I've looked at some non S cars that I keep thinking I could mod with the front valance and possibly side sills, then talk myself into just getting the real deal. So...
What would you consider the "S" premium over an identical non-S car? (2S or 4S considered at par)

i would say, all things being equal, the margin right now is around $12-20k depending on the seller, color, etc - items specific to the S. unfortunately, the gap right now is quite wide and WBs are in HIGH demand. i would say you're probably looking at something like an average $15k premium, but i also don't believe it will shrink moving forward. warranted or not, those seem to be the current conditions.

Depending on milage......too much for my stomach to handle. Standard 10-16K. market is pretty strong at the moment.
I was just in Montgomery last weekend. Not a bad place!
Best of luck in your search!!

cars.com and hemmings.com are good places to look
I found my 98 C2S / sport seats in June of this year on cars.com
hemmings.com seems to pull in cars from all over the place that you normally would not see - some obscure dealers
