On my own car I have 7mm on the front with original nuts. There are plenty of turns left when you use 7mm spacers.

It seems to be right on the allowable edge for # of turns, I've been using them on my rears no problem at all.

I'd say not to worry on a street driven car with spirited driving, if your doing a track day best to take them off to be on the safe side.

btw the adaptec looks like a great spacer for the $, will prob pick up a set too.

Will do! Also going a tad lower next week, so that paired with the front spacers should looks slick.
I'll only be able to drive up and down the one well paved road in Montreal now, though... lol

I didn't order longer studs for my 7mm spacers I used on the front. I read somewhere if you get at least 7 complete turns of the lug nut, your safe.

and with 7mm I have seen it closer to 6 turns. I think it depends on the wheel a bit and how much meat they need around the mounting hole. This spacer is not something I would do if I was to track or push the car. On the street, normal driving, sure....

General mechanical rule is the thread depth should be at least the stud diameter, but not sure if that rule follows with steel studs and alloy nuts.

Cheers,

Mike

Can you safely have fewer turns if you use steel nuts?

You need 2-3 threads showing (open steel lugnuts) to be safe for track use.

Just wanted to update the thread and say I went with Motorsport Tech's spacers. Mounted them up this weekend with no issues, so far so good.

I received a set of 2 from RUF for my NB and RUF 18's never used them complete with bolts I'll sell them for 75.00 + shipping ~ 15.00 and can provide pics if you want.

Hi - how much for a pair of 15mm spacers only, without the bolts? They're for the rear of my car which has the 3 prongs as shown in your picture. Will your 15 mm spacers have the corresponding prongs? Thanks

Just wanted to say I received my Ruf-style spacers from Adaptec a while ago and have been running them with no issues at all.

Could you direct us to the Ruf-style model? I could only find the 5 and 3mm models for our car.

They are probably not advertised on their site, but they're exactly what is shown on the first page.

Bumping a old thread. I recently got a set of flat 7mm spacers (with chamfered hub center bore on one side, I believe this goes to the hub facing?) and the hub center "tabs" barely stick out past the flat spacers. Reading few posts here looks like 7mm spacers can be used with OE studs lenght and stock nuts (in my case steel nuts is what my car has) however some say it's fine with flat spacers and some say you need hub center spacers (with tabs).

Street driven, ocasionally track used (for this I would take off the spacers to not run any unnecesary risk). Would the nuts get loosen with time since the hub center tabs are not supporting the wheel (pretty much no more) in this case?
