Default Run from this C4S or???

http://forums.pelicanparts.com/porsc...7-993-c4s.html

Not sure if the link works, but it's the car over at AIR Motorsports in Van Nuys, CA.

Is this car worth a PPI or should it be left to the DIY guys?

What would you pay? I'm not afraid of a fixer/driver with high miles.

On the surface,it looks like something worth checking out. This assumes you want a driver, and don't care about mileage. A good PPI should answer a lot of questions.

i wouldn't say 'run'. it depends on your budget, how well the car would check out and what your expectations/desires are. as stated, if you want a 'driver' it's likely worth checking out. every car has a 'price' - you might be able to get this for something close to 30. I found this car in my searches also, but i was willing to pay more for lower miles.

I'll be curious what this car sells for too.I talked to the seller months ago when he got it and he seemed like a straight shooter.

High miles can be a good thing if frequently driven and properly serviced. You have to be ok with the overall wear and tear.

Low miles you can find some with like new paint and interior, but cars not driven will have potential problems. My experience bringing three non-driven low mileage cars of different brand back into service all resulted in repairs. Water pumps, suspension bushings, rubber lines/hoses, tires, ignition wires, clogged injectors, etc.

This one is the worst of both worlds. High mileage and not driven for 24 months. Get the best price you can and reserve for repairs.

I had my PPI done at 200 North Motorworks in Los Angeles, it is probably about 20-30 miles from Van Nuys. Great guys and affordable pricing.

TRE is in Van Nuys, however I have no experience with them. I exclusively use Stuttcar in Pasadena.

I'll be in Van Nuys on Wednesday if you want my thoughts on the car. I've done a few Rennfaxes in the past.

TRE performed a PPI on a C2S I was interested in a few years ago. I found them to be thorough and knowledgeable. Price was fair too. I ended up walking away based on their findings.

Thanks for the input and offers to look at the car, as much as I love the color combo I think I'm gonna hold out for a lower mileage example.

Looks like a great deal if PPI is good. But this price is too good to be true.

Normally I'd think the price is a little high because of the mileage.....but with this WB fever everyone is having it seems in check.Hope he gets close to his asking price......makes me feel even better for paying that for mine with only 100k

How so? It's a 162K car without any documentation re: engine work that was bought for the express purpose of flipping.

(I recently received yet another unsolicited inquiry about selling my 4S in the $30-32K range. I'll guess it presents itself much better than this car.)

+1 Definitely not "too good to be true"
