Default painted wheels, do it or not???

So I have a dilemma......

I have two sets of wheels for my C4S (one set of stock turbo twists from 1996 & one set of newer turbo twists from a 2003 turbo) I have always liked the look of painted wheels on the 993.

So my dilemma is, which set do I paint? and what color to paint them on an arena red C4S???

I have always liked the arena red painted wheels that I've seen on a few cars, but if you have any photos of painted turbo twists (new or old style) post them to help me make up my mind.

Thanks,
Ryan

Im not a fan of painted wheels. But if you must, do the 996 wheels as they will look custom on a 993 anyhow.
Keep your 993 wheels stock.

Me? I'd paint the 996 Turbo wheels. Either gunmetal or Arena Red with silver lip.

I say leave the 993 Twists stock and paint the 996s. Gunmetal would look amazing on Arena Red!

Plasti-dip them. Its easy to do, and easily reversible. If you like the look, then do it permanent. If you dont...peel it off and its like nothing ever happened. Plasti-dip should last a few seasons and is inexpensive.

Gunmetal comes in several shades - did one with a lot of blue in it for my arena red Turbo, the looks sucked, the red of the car seemed to accent the blue in the wheel colour.

Cheers,

Mike

Steel grey will look awesome with arena red
Here's a picture of a set I had done in steel grey on a set of cup II's 18"

If you are not sure that colour will be better, you can make a proof with plasti dip spray, I made a proof in iron grey (matt) colour, it´s too easy to apply and easy to remove

I always wondered if you could put a skin on them, like how people wrap their cars. You would think it would work and not really be that much effort to do 4 wheels. I'd toyed with going with black centers on my Hollows and wouldn't want to paint, but would do a wrap.
