Richard,

Congrats on the mileage.

My wife and I also have high mileage Porsches - hers is a 2004 Cayenne Turbo which I believe to be just about 290,000 miles or darn close. Mine is a 2003 996 Turbo that just passed 376,000 miles.

These vehicles do not melt - enjoy them!!

not driving car ruins it more than driving it.

OT: my friend has Saturn ion with 176k miles on it. That impressed me.

WOW. Have you had both since new? I thought that I drove a lot. Actually, I do. Along with my 993 I had an e55 AMG (45,000) a 350Z convertible (~30,000), an Infiniti FX45 (~110,000), a 335XI coupe (46,000) and currently a X3 35i (48,000).

Great milestone! Looking forward to getting there myself, but only at 142K at the moment on my 1996 993 TT.

Especially with these cars, they prefer to be driven.

After 300K worth of dealer service invoices all future service over 300K should be free!

Default November 2013 Panorama

Be sure and check out the cover photograph of the 300,000 mile shift **** and the wonderful article about Richard's 993 starting on Page 46 of this month's PCA Panorama magazine.

Inspired me to go out and drive my 48000 mile 993 to work and back today, a paltry 20 miles, but they were all fun!

Amazing stuff... Keep the miles rolling. A one owner car at that. Have had mine the last 10 years and not moved the mileage much sadly.

95_993,

Sorry for the late reply - I was at Larz back in Sept.

Great story in Pano this month. I hope to step past 400,000 miles in my 996 Turbo at the beginning of the new year and also the Cayenne Turbo should hit 300,000 miles by the end of the year.
