Not being able to swing the garage door into the back of your car, now that's good advice.

There has only been a job or two that I have not been able to handle professionally on the bendpak seen in the rennsportKC link posted early in this thread, and it has had everything on it from GT3RS's to boxsters, to 944s, cayennes to bmws and everything in between. There is plenty of access to the center of the car (though rare you need to do anything there), and you can drop the motor/trans out easy enough. Only thing I can't do on that lift is drop a full exhaust off a 944 turbo, as you have to rotate the assembly out slightly and there isn't room to do that.

the midrise lift is a GAZILLION times better than working on jackstands, but not as good as a full two post lift obviously. Your back will thank you.

You will need to build 2x12 ramps though to drive up over the lift on (unless you sink it in the ground), which isn't a big deal.

as long as the hood isnt open, the car can be at full height, and the garage door has plenty of room over the hood to open and close.

garage is just a big puzzle of pieces

Good move!!!

Have him install some large enough conduit for the hydraulic hose so that it is out of the way. One less thing to trip over.

That is VERY good advice, it's a pita but well worth it in the long run.

As an aside, if you find that the brake release cable for the safety locks is too short as I did, you are going to have a heckuva time sourcing one any longer. I made my own out of cable bought from a big box store, the write up i posted on a bike related forum:

fwiw, these things will not work on large sedans.

My w220 s500 was too long and wide to get on the scissor lift safely.

That's because quads S doesn't have a full frame. If the Lexus has full length frame rails ur fine falcon, but I doubt it does though. My atlas can lift my Tacoma no problem cause it easily reaches the rails.

Quads S class swallowed the lift whole, not even close to the lift points.

I've had my 2500hd on my scissor no problem. Solid as a rock. Hard to believe a sedan is longer than that frame. (I guess you can go in a multitude of lift points on a truck frame though)

well, as you can understand, its an issue of width as well as length.

The lack of a full frame means you have lift points on the unibody. on my MB, they are very close to the sides of the car. The car has a long wheelbase, so these points are also a good bit apart.

When you rotate the arms out perpendicular to the lift to get the right width, they are not far enough apart. The narrower rails on the truck make that possible.

My old 928 and my old Infiniti G35 were no problem on the Bendpak.
