Craigslist. Sometimes ebay.
Basic 1995 Carrera 2 with 150-200k miles is $20k
Some folks ask 25k, but they end up selling for closer to $20k.
They may run and drive but chances are they want to be gone through.
C4 is more money especially the S.
In canada the prices are 5-10K higher.
I just landed a canadian 1995 C2 with 128000 miles for mid 20s.

It all depends on condition and seller. I purchased a 97 C4S with 175K on her. She ran great and had a great interior, but but her life in Michigan wasn't kind to her. I had a number in mind, because I knew what she needed. You need to know ahead of time, what you are willing to do. Some would prefer to have everything done,so they can just enjoy the car. I enjoy all aspects, and was in the mood for some real hands on time,so I was able to pick up my 97 C4S for $16K.

Confession time. Around the time Ilko sold his, in response to one of my ramblings, a lurker here and I had a serious discussion about my car in the high $30s. He was no DIY guy, and I honestly told him it would be $10K in cosmetics/mechanical at retail to get it to the "Rennlist Seal Of Approval" level.
So by the time he shipped it, he's into it for $50K. Not saying all the low-to-mid milers out there would be all that much better at that point, but given all these cars now trade on an odometer reading I told him to just go buy one of those. But, as usual with first timers, he had to have a "deal". Then there's always the "you didn't sell me a new car" factor in dealing with firsttimebuyer.
(Anyone see the guy on drugs over on Ebay floating the ~50K 2S for $80K+, pitching it the "educated speculator"????)

I believe the market in improving for our cars lately and will likely continue to do so. If the car looks decent, well maintained with service records, I think it can fetch $25k easily. Hell 912s are now going for $25k!

96' Speed yellow C2 with 142k sold at auction in Cali a few months ago for 16k and then sold for 22,222 by the dealer in South Florida who bought it.
I am very disgusted I wasnt around to purchase it myself.
