Exclamation Has anyone shipped wheels from Canada?

In June I will be cleaning things up as I prepare to move and one of the things I plan on doing is reducing the wheel sets I have.

Has anyone from Canada shipped wheels to the US? Or has anyone from the US purchased from Canada and can shed some light on which shipping company was used? Were all wheels shipped individually?
If I were to ship within Canada I would use Greyhound as you can drop them off at a bus terminal and send them across Canada for less than $200. If I make a quick quote with Fedex from Montreal to 90210 (I always use this ZIP, easiest to remember lol) for 4 boxes of 65lbs each I get a quote of slightly over $500. Is there a cheaper alternative?

Thanks

I sold a set of 16" fuchs and shipped them from Ottawa to CA.
I just showed up at mailbox etc. with the rims and they helped me pack them and fill the boxes with popcorn. Mailbox etc. Is now The UPS Store. From what I remember, the cost was around $100.

I've purchased 2 sets from Canada. IIRC, they were both shipped UPS. All boxed individually. One of the sets, the seller drove across border to ship UPS from NY.

Shipping them from the border is your best bet. Go into one of your local wheel retailers and ask them to keep some wheel boxes for you. Companies like Forgeline ship wheels 2 to a box, 2 boxes, some packing and you are done.

Shipping from Plattsburgh isn't a bad idea, I just wonder what the border guard will say.
$100 for shipping Fuchs is cheap! You probably shipped with no tires and I'm sure you can put 2 Fuchs per box.

Go to the border and tell them you are shipping something, they see this all the time. I'm going to the border today to pick up my stage III's

If you want to know if you will have trouble with borders, you can call them at1-800-461-9999. Tire rack uses UPS for your info.

Try Fedex Ground or DHL instead. I had a set (with rubber mounted) shipped from NYC to Alberta for just over $200. $500 seems like way too much.

i am in the same boat. Need to send my wheels from vancouver to florida.

Going to box each wheel and send as a set of four packages.
UPS ground should suffice.

Since the wheels came from USA i sure hope they do not charge me duty to send them back to the USA. Especially if i am sending them to myself!

Default US Shipping

When crossing the US Border, declare that you have items to be shipped, they charge $10.75 fee, no duty or taxes

Oh, I know I'll love them, this is my second set on my second 993! I get the car back from its annual service and new cans installed tomorrow.
