Default SAI Valve Help

Greetings RListers.

I took the week off to do some work around the house and on the car.
Today was the car's turn with the project dujour being the SAI valve and port cleaning. Once I got the airbox out and figured out what I was looking at, I reached back there and, with barely a touch, pulled the top of the valve off. The darn thing was so corroded that not even the hose above it connected to the valve; I touched the hose and heard something crumble. Nice!

Anywho... long-story-short, even with the arsenal of tools that I own, I was not able to get the threaded bottom section out, Dremel and all.

So... anyone willing to rent/lend their 27mm crowfoot? Pretty please. PM me if you are willing to help me out.

Thx!
Bruno

If the top is off, can you get a socket on it? That would be much easier.

Thought about it but the largest socket I have is a 21mm. If no replies, I'll swing by one of the box stores and see what my options are.

Here's a nice snap shot of the top of the valve and some of the body.

How many miles on the car?

Please post up some pics of the SAI ports when you get there and what your oil consumption is per 1000.

My '96 is at ~98K. I would venture to say that this was the original valve. As far as consumption, I am at about .5qt/2K.

As only have owned the car since this past October, I am glad I was able to pull everything else out w/o much issue. The MAF can be a pain but once you figure out that it's best to remove it or, at minimum, loosen it, it is much easier to reattach to the airbox.

Once this hurdle is done, the fuel filter and the power steering hose coming out of the reservoir are next.
