Yesterday I found out about the Engine Wiring Harness Recall, before I contact the Seattle Porsche dealer I'd like to know ahead of dealing with them what my 993 has.
This is a pic depicting the engine wiring harness on my 1996 993, I don't know what the old harness looks like vs the new version.
Can anyone tell by looking at the black rubber loom coming out of the engine fuse box whether or not it has been changed with the upgraded harness or if it needs to be changed?
i think it is only early 1995 993s that this applied to, google it you will get a fact sheet that gives you affected harness #s you can check. I have a late buld 95 and mine is fine.

Hey Jan, At this point I have no frame of reference, does your wiring harness look similar to mine for comparison purposes?
I understand the old harness loom was manufactured of soft PVC and the new one was manufactured of rubber. Does anyone have a pic of the old (recalled) harness so I can compare to my 1996?
Thanks.
I believe the harness part number that you have can be found attached to the portion of the harness within the fuse and relay box on the driver's side of the engine compartment.
As a reminder to all your 1995 and early 1996 Porsche engine wiring harness part number should read 993 607 016 15. Look into it and make sure it is up to date.
