Great avatar! Tell me you have a '96.

I installed the RS mounts and am very happy. I felt more vibration in the cabin initially, but didn't notice it anymore after a couple of months. The rear end feels more stable. Since the mounts are essentially part of the rear suspension and the rear weight bias of our cars, it makes sense.

I sometimes wonder if installing new stock mounts may have given similar results.

And hows that? changing motor mounts should have no effect on the speed of shifts on a tiptronic.

On the work side of the engine mounts...taking the initial 2 bolts out on the top is easy...the bad part comes when you have to take out the cats to get to the bottom bolt. on each side..

So i elected to get my new 200 cell cats first and get it all at once.

just my 2 cents.

?? No need to take off the cats or anything else..... except if you are replacing them anyway.....

This change is super easy.... about an hour work at most, no need to undo or unbolt anything except the mounts themselves....

All you need is a long extension and a socket. I cracked mine loose with a 3/8" drive ratchet.

Don't forget to jack the engine up just enough to take pressure off the nuts or you'll end up twisting and bending the engine carrier. Which will then require you to reinforce it with additional welds...

How so?

By tightening up the moveable ballast you decrease the handling. That's why renault had movable ballast in the front of thier F1 car.

Just kidding

Maybe your mileage would be different with worn mounts.

My experience echos Mike's thoughts; I installed RS mounts in Rufus, and found that my old mounts were fine. I felt no difference, but I have a very old and numb butt.

I can only assume my old hydraulic mounts were very worn - but the effect was immediate and very obvious.
