Question about Raised Shifter
We have a 95 C2 that is converted to a stock class race car. Finally installed a Recaro Hans seat on Recaro sliders in the car. The problem is that I have to stretch my arm too far to grab the shifter and going from 2-3 upshift in right hand turns is not a smooth motion and I either have to hunt for third or go into 5.
At 52, it is unlikley that I will do anything reasonable about the challenges posed by my lack of hieght, so, is there any way to raise the shifter? I am getting golden rod and RS short shifter for the car, but wonder rasing the shifter, if doable might also help.

FWIW: you can remove the trans tunnel cover below the car and "pop" off the front shifter arm, then spin the shifter arm so it is shorter. This should effectively move the shift lever linkage more to the "rear" of the car so that your throw will be shorter. Just keep in mind you don't want to hit against the fixed tunnel opening when in 2/4/6 gears. Good luck.

other option is just a longer shift ****... friend of mine manufactured this billet aluminum **** that is 4-5" longer. Sorry, he doesn't have any more available at present.

This is why if one does not flip the nylon chassis bearings holding the slide rod of the shifter in place, then the shift rod will foul the re-installation of the central cover to the chassis - and the additional shifter height will also not be realized as well.

Hmm...are you sure here. The RS shifter drops the link below the fulcrum as well such that the throw comes out shorter.

The RS shifter arm is just a piece of steel. Figure out how much closer you want the **** to the driver and call up the guys at Phister and have them modify one to your requirements.
As mentioned above, the adjustment range in the static part of the linkage under the car will also get you some fore and aft adjustment.

I've toyed with the idea of going to a fabcar that's raised up.
