Default Bosch KTS 300

Hi All
Does anyone know the current value of the Bosch Hammer, aka KTS 300. I have one with two software modules, and several cables. I seem to remember they were pretty expensive.
Thx Philip

The ones I see on Ebay do not have the software modules.

The going rate the last couple of years has been $1600 plus shipping for a unit in very good condition with the last version Porsche issued...Ver 8.1 dated 1-10-95.

If the Porsche has OBD2 you need the 16 pin connector. The earlier round Porsche connector is a 19 pin connector.

If you do not have the last Porsche software module the value will be a lot less. Depending on which connectors you have will limit who the buyer is unless you have both.

I've found that most '95s, even though they are OBD1, have the trapezoidal OBD2 connector.

Thanks guys
I have the latest software - Ver 8.1 dated 1-10-95. I have several connectors, including the OBD2 one, which I bought separately from jdsporsche.com. So i guess the price is up there.

There's two versions of the 993, the early models (94-95) with the round 19-pin connector, and the later (95-98) with the more common 16-pin OBD2-style connector.
The Porsche implementation of OBD was pretty much the same throughout the 993 history, some call the early models OBD1, but there are really no big differences in the protocol used.
As far as I know, the interface/protocol is mostly same in all OBD-connected units in the car for both versions, (CCU/ABS/Alarm/Air bag) but there were some changes in th the Motronic engine control unit to conform with newer OBD2 standards.
Cheers,
Tore

In Europe that's true, as they continued to use the 55pin OBD1 DME thru '98 except on the turbos, in the US the '96-98 use an 88pin DME as was used in all the turbos.

All the 55pin cars use Bosch 2.10.1 OBD1 both in the US and RoW, these cars have a varient coding pigtail to adapt he DME to a specific standard, there are 3 possible varients; RoW, US, RoW RS
all the 88pin cars use Bosch 5.2 OBD2 that is for all turbos and US '96-98 n/a
