1. Prices are all over the map. Depends on what needs to be repaired, and where you are.
1a. Shopping on price usually results in dissatisfaction.
2. Few need a "rebuild." Many need a top end. What DOES need to be repaired?

engine rebuild: $15k to $20k
top end: $3500 to $8k
Justification: but but but it hasn't depreciated, and its last of the aircooled, and now that i can't afford to eat, the car/driver will be lighter so 282bhp will feel fast.

Find a reputable shop (Not a dealer) that can properly diagnose what your car needs and let them provide you with your options. Then make your choice, write the check, and live with it.
