SOLD: My 993 C4S - Polar Silver/Midnight Blue
SOLD SOLD SOLD!!
Gents, I've driven a 997.1TT. And now I can't get it out of my head. So I'm thinking of picking one up with higher mileage. In order to do that I'll have to sell my C4S. Not an easy decision, but unfortunately I can't have both. So here it is:
1996 Carrera 4S, Polar Silver with Midnight Blue interior, 111,XXX miles.
Clear CarFax and AutoCheck, no stories.
Clear title in hand, no liens.
Certificate of Authenticity from PCNA.
Options:
C02 - Catalytic Converter
X97 - Aluminum/Leather Shift ****
X98 - Aluminum/Leather Parking Brake
329 - Radio Porsche CR-210
454 - Automatic Speed Control
650 - Sunroof
The car is in great shape for the mileage. The engine pulls very strong, recent leak down test with excellent results. Brad Penn 20W-50 oil, Blackstone Labs oil reports available. Dry motor, no leaks. Uses less than 1 quart of oil every 2500 miles.
MAJOR service completed in March 2012 including clutch, slave cylinder, bleed clutch and brake system, replace distributor, distributor caps and rotors, ignition wires, crankshaft seal, chain tensioner gaskets, valve cover gaskets, spark plugs, oil change + oil filters, clean secondary air injection ports, new battery (BOSCH), power steering belt, rear wheel bearings, air filter, cabin filter, fuel filter, corner balance, and alignment. New tires at that time as well.
All electrical components work, strong A/C, no issues.
The body looks very presentable for a car with this mileage. However the front bumper will need some attention. I hit a turkey at 50MPH a couple of years ago and the paint underneath the clear bra has spider web cracks. The bumper itself is not cracked. It looks good from a few feet away but the imperfections are noticeable up close. Rear bumper has 2 tiny dimples form another car's license plate bolts when I had the car parked on the street in Manhattan. Not visible unless you're very close. The rest looks very good with original paint.
Upgrades:
Engine
RSR Mufflers
Wide Oval Exhaust Tips
Motorsound Airbox Package
Drivetrain
Porsche OEM RS Clutch (4K miles on it)
Light Weight Flywheel
Porsche OEM GT3 Pressure Plate
FD Motorsports Golden Rod
Suspension

Sumitomo HTR Z III 235/40/18 and 295/30/18 tires (new last year, 4K miles on 'em)
Body
OEM Euro Front Turbo Bumper
OEM Turbo S Chin Spoiler
OEM Euro Rear Turbo Bumper
Carrera S Split Grille
OEM Litronic Headlamps
OEM Clear Indicators
MA Shaw Turbo S front Air Ducts/Fog Lamps
3000K HID fog lights wired as DRL
Gert Front Protection Bar
Invinca-Shield on key surfaces
Interior
996 Blue Sport Seats (backs painted Polar Silver, but it's not a professional job)
996 3-Spoke Airbag Steering Wheel (reupholstered with thicker perforated leather and blue stitching)
Silver Gauge Faces + Aluminum Trim Rings (Palo Alto Speedometer)
Aluminum Pedals, Footrest, and Interior Door Handles
Carrera 4S Aluminum Door Sills
Porsche CR-220 Radio w. Modfied Face Plate + Hardwired iPod
MB Quart Speakers
Hardwired Garmin Navigation Unit (Removable)
I have an Excel spreadsheet with the maintenance/repair work done on the car since March 2001 or 44K miles and will be happy to send it to prospective buyers. Also have a 3-ring binder with receipts, state inspection certificates, etc. that will be sent to the new owner.
For the last 12 years this car has been owned by Porsche enthusiasts with no expenses spared to keep it in top shape. I am the 4th owner and have had it since October of 2009.
The car comes with 2 sets of keys/remotes, all books, tools, spare wheel, and tire inflator as well as an OEM Porsche car cover. Also comes with 2 sets of blue floor mats, one of them has the Carrera 4S script with a red S. And I'll throw in Adrian Streather's 993 Companion book AND a printed set of the factory manuals.
No stock parts are included and I will not be parting it out. If it sells, it sells as a package.
Fun fact: The driver sun visor was autographed by Porsche CEO Matthias Müller at last year's Baltimore Grand Prix.
Pictures were taken last Fall prior to putting the car in storage for the winter. The only change since then is new front brake pads that I installed. I'm planning to change the oil this weekend if the weather cooperates and I can take it for a drive to warm it up.

Well since you said thinking - I'll say it. DON'T DO IT! Your C4S gonna be worth more than that 997.1 in a few years. You know that!

Wow, can't believe it. A few minutes with the folks at Pano and you're off to the water cooler.
Your car is so nice, upgrade, wheels and the seats of course....good luck with the sale.

GLWS! Sweet car. The extra floormats sound familiar though Good price. I like the 997 seats. The blue is closer than I would have expected. That may be a good option for me when I decide I have to have sport seats. Good luck on the 997tt. If I had to have a water pumper, that would be the one!
