Funny to think that it was the Fall of '80 when I was standing in the windblown parking lot of the JC in Alameda, Cris Huergas and I talking about our newly acquired 911s that he'd spearhead an effort to reshape the idea of what the old 911s are all about.
Without rehashing the whole R Gruppe history, Cris calls me one morning having found a local '69S dead on the side of a house for $3-4K and did I have the money to buy it. He buys it, flash forward my cousin ends up painting it long before he had any ideas of getting into the 910/907/908/917 stuff, and R Gruppe was gestating.
