Smile Sunset Imports, can it get any better?

Yes! Many of us have done business with Sunset Imports over the years, great prices, no sales tax and knowledgable people. My contact was Jeff, as I understand it, he has moved on to another situation. Regardless, they are still the best IMHO.

I've also had consistently good service from Suncoast's parts department. The prices aren't always as good as Sunset, but being on the diagonally opposite end of the country from Sunset, the difference between shipping costs can sometimes be significant, particularly for heavier items.

That said, Andraya at Sunset is phenominal. I think her brain is hardwired into the Porsche parts catalog.

Sunset offered me the best pricing for a special order for my TT from the Fatherland. Took only 3 weeks to arrive, couldn't of been happier.

Hey, but you're supposed to report Use Tax buddy!

Actually wondering how the "Amazon settlement" will impact all of these small retailers shipping to CA. In practical terms. And then factor in Sunset is in no sales tax OR. Logistical nightmare they may just say the hell with?

Martin,
Don't feel too sorry for jeff, (jeff clarke?), he moved right across the parking lot to sunset AUDI.
I too have enjoyed working with him for years and continue to do so for the battle wagon purchases.
I had the chance to meet him a few weeks ago while traveling to the PDX area.

Sunset is great, but people in So Cal <and beyond> should also check out TC's Garage based in Vista CA

http://www.tcsgarage.com/

Tom and Bev Gould get ~ 85% of my P and A car business now.
Great prices
Great service
Local biz
Long-Time P car people.

Same here till be moved over to Sunset Audi. We used talk motorcycles after every phone order.

Luke takes care of my orders now.

Over three years of countless orders and not a single screw-up.

Funny, we all have our favorites, or at least the guys who we get to know. I used to deal with Jeff, then I have been dealing with Bob McCarthy -> great service, knowledgeable, and good prices (for what Porsche prices are...). Shipping is really quick given they are "just down the road" so to speak.

Those guys must do a ton load of business! Its going to have a big impact if the tax rules change.

Cheers,

Mike
