Default Wheel spacers

I'm putting a set of 18 twist wheels on my 97 NB and wanted to know if I may need wheel spacers for my front wheels...the wheels I have are 7.5 wide and I would like for the wheels to fill the front finders better then the stock 17in 7.5 wheels they are replacing...if someone could educate me on what I may need please let me know...and if anyone know where is the best place to pick up a set I would also be greatful...

Thanks again,
Chad

They will fill much more then the stock wheels, but you can put a 5mm spacer on there with no issues.

Best way is to put the new wheels/tires on and run them, and you can then measure what you need.

Remember that you should have a good 7-8 turns on the studs, you can get away with 6 but that is marginal, especially with alloy nuts. That usually means a 7mm spacer is marginal, but it also depends on the wheel design, since there is variances in the thickness of the wheel at the hub bolt.

Also, make sure the spacers are hub centric (they are machined with a lip that allows the spacer to be centered to the hub). This lessens the possibility of the spacer contributing to vibrations.

cheers,

Mike

Doesn't Porsche AG offer a 5mm wheel spacer? I too have been considering a 5mm spacer to be used with the front OEM Cup II (7x17et55)

Edit ^^^ FD Motorsports.
