I have a very nice one for sale. It has the upgraded faceplate, so you can see the display, comes with iPhone connecting cable and security code. $275.00 CDN + shipping.

Also, try posting on the 996/986 boards...they came stock in those cars, so it's more likely someone has one sitting in a drawer somewhere that they'll part with.

We should probably give Gray993C4 first refusal since he posed the initial question, don't you think?

Hmm - I briefly thought of that but I also made the first offer with cash in hand - in fact it's already paid for. The OP is a brand new non-paying member, and if you look at his 5 postings, they are all about buying parts. I bet the only reason he is here is to scoop up parts from us paying members. Hopefully he becomes a paying contributing member, that remains to be seen.

If the OP was a paying member, then I would have taken second place in the queue. We had a discussion about purchase etiquette on one of the selling threads - the conclusion was that first cash gets the deal, and members have priority.

He also has other options just as economical not sourcing it from Canada - there are issues with duties and more expensive shipping to the US anyways.

However, if he really objects, and other senior Rennlister's also support it, I will reverse out.

Cheers,

Mike

Dumb Question, but sincere so please be kind: with so many options (particularly newer ones) out there, why does a CDR220 still attract owners?

Hey the 220 is good enough to be std. equip on a >$300K Singer.

I think they are in demand because they look very period correct and give you the ability to plug in ipad/mp3, etc. For those of us who want convenience features on the occasions the radio is on and oem look/spec, it's an easy choice.

Mike, I love you and I appreciate all of your contributions to the community, but...

Member or not, 5 posts asking for parts or not (by my count he's only got 1), gray993c4 started a thread asking if anyone had a nice CDR-220. I think a courteous thing to do would be to say "If gray993C4 doesn't take it, I will."

FWIW, I didn't read the entire etiquette thread, but to me this would be the cool thing to do in the future. Just my 2¢.

I count five with no introduction, no contributions, nothing -> just trolling for stuff so far.

Ok, but I do not agree with a non-member having equal rights as members for for-sale-parts, that does not feel right. We are naturally protected on the "Member for sale section" since non-members cannot access it, but the idea should also extend to all forums. Anyways, it will take another 12 years of contributions before this happens again with me, and I may be 6 feet under by then...

I too am looking if there is another for sale. I'll let Gray993C4 have first crack at it, since he stated the tread...
