Thanks for sharing this. I feel the same about tampering with the transmission and this modification but your write-up is pushing me towards getting it done as well. Problem is I just don't trust anybody here in Toronto to do it well and should I wait until I get new clutch before doing it. Someday...

I'm on Darin's list to do goldenrod but I'm on the fence about going w SSK. I'm happy w the shifter throws so why upset the apple cart? Not sure if I should stick to my plan and just do GR or follow the herd and do both...

The "safety factor" of doing away with the cheesy NYLON ball receptacles at each end of the shifter rod means you'll never get stranded when (not "if") they fail. IMHO, that, alone, makes the FD SSK worth it.

fine. Nylon ball failure is not exactly happening on a daily basis though.
