tarbender, i had mine installed in Toronto. Didnt do it myself but any competent mechanic can handle it. I has a nice feel to it and I really like the slightly higher shifter position - feels more like a race car with the shifter up closer to the wheel

Worthwhile mod for sure

I'm on Darin's list to do goldenrod but I'm on the fence about going w SSK. I'm happy w the shifter throws so why upset the apple cart? Not sure if I should stick to my plan and just do GR or follow the herd and do both...

The "safety factor" of doing away with the cheesy NYLON ball receptacles at each end of the shifter rod means you'll never get stranded when (not "if") they fail. IMHO, that, alone, makes the FD SSK worth it.

fine. Nylon ball failure is not exactly happening on a daily basis though.
