Would definitely do these again:
HID- better light and back to normal since my last sports car had HID.
Fabspeed xpipe- nice sound felt the weight drop and the power increase.

possibly RS Trans mount
That's my one regret. Too loud internally for a dual use car. Let me rephrase that...for a family dual use car.

For the 4S, which was a 100% stock 100K mile street car when I got it in '04? It's still pretty much stock, save for a wider front tire and PSS9 kit. Today, for a street car, I'd install a very well-valved non-adjustable damper to match whatever spring rates I felt would work best on a street car. And the wider front tire. Nothing else about the car bothers me, from as-delivered spec.

For the yellow car? Well, glad I lucked into a 100% complete, low mile/use, professional build of what a nearly full-weight 993 track car should be. And nine years after it's completion, there really isn't much that's evolved to change how such a car would be built in 2013.

So considering I probably couldn't trade the both of them for a new base, stripper Cayman, they'll stay as-is. (Figuring out when I can drive either continues to be the challenge............)

I would've made the springs rates lower. 950/1150 is truly a track only setup.

The only disappointing upgrade I have is the LWF. If I were to do it all over again, knowing what I know today, I would avoid it at all costs. (unless it was a track car and only a track car)

Safety wise I think the HID lights are the best bang for the buck.

Appearance wise I am glad I totally love the nose. I have the RS splitters with Turbo S fog light ducts, clear corners, and bumpette delete. All the trick pieces are, but the bumpetter delete is what I really love.

Family wise I added LATCH points and bought car seats that fit. Nothing wilder then a Porsche family hauler.

LWF/Clutch, Fister IIs/Fister SSK/PSS10s/RS motormounts/Walrod bushins....great performance upgrades that I wouldn't trade. Fun to see all the different ways these cars have evolved! All good from stock-up.

I guess only because you have a 95 - that is definitely the achilles heel of that year. On the 96's up, is a must-do I think.

Cheers,

Mike

I guess I'm with Mike in that buying the turbo was the best upgrade. The car had H&R row suspension and HID lights when I bought it, and all I have done is Walrod bushings, in terms of performance improvement.

Yup, your correct. However........I have read about 96's stalling as well but not as much as 95's.

Beyond that, Im just fine with my upgrades. I have other plans for my vehicle, which I wont comment on now because people will just want to know how much...........................

I think for a street car that sees the track occasionally:

1. HID lights
2. PSS 9
3. muffler upgrade
4. CDR 220
5. walrod bushings
6. 996 3-spoke steering wheel

if you are more track oriented
6. RS sway bars
7. DAS roll bar
8. bucket seats and 6 pt harness
9. semi solid engine and tranny mounts
10. RS clutch and LWF
11. regear transmission (only if it needs repair)
12. Motor sport LSD that can handle track duty

I did not spend a lot of time on the exact sequence
