Default Replacing dist cap and rotor - need LIVE help.

I purchased 2 dist caps and 2 rotors from Pelican parts a few weeks ago in anticipation of replacing mine this weekend.

Got the first cap and rotor replaced with no issues - and then looked at the box for the rotor and did a double take. Its part # 930-602-902-02/85 - from facet. It says it fits a 3.2 carrera and a 3.3 turbo (on the box).
When I ordered them from Pelican - I ordered part # 930-602-902-02 M85 which is listed for the 89-98 911 carrera.

Are these two parts the same? The part number is slightly different. The first one went on fine - but the rotor looks "slightly" shorter than the one that was in there. I'd obviously like to have the right parts in there and Pelican is closed - so I cant double check.

Anyone know the answer? Thanks in advance.

The 964 and 993 have the same dual distributor and therefore the same distributor rotor and cap.

What matters is that the top of the rotor sits at the same height. The skirt of the rotor from one make to the other may be a tad shorter or longer - unimportant.

I used Bosch parts there.

I believe that you are OK. I buy parts from Pelican and have noticed that their part numbers start with the Porsche number but they add an extension (evidently to distinguish between different suppliers). The Porsche rotor P/N is 930-602-902-02.

Why they would have both "M85" and "/85" as extensions is not clear but I expect that both parts are the same.

I will only use Bosch dist cap and rotor...Yeah, they cost a tad more, but they are OEM parts, excellent build quality, longest lasting.

I recently ordered the above mentioned parts from Pelican, and stipulated Bosch only. That is what I received.

I like Beru wires, but not so much the caps and rotors.
