Default Can anyone with a carerra desk clock help me out?

I'm going to make a carrera desk clock for my wife for Christmas. Hers will be guards red, the color of her car. While I'm at it I might as well make one for myself in grand prix white. Can anyone with a clock take the back cover off and tell me how it is wired? I also need to know the specs of the converter. I know it is 12 volts, but I don't know how many amps or milli-amps it should be. I don't want to ruin a perfectly good clock. Thanks, Rob.

I pm'd Andreas but haven't heard back yet, so I thought I'd ask someone who had one of the clocks to look at theirs.

Out of curiosity, does anybody know what would be involved with converting this to a battery operated clock?

Curve Lover:

That's exactly what I needed. Thank you so much. Yeah, she's a car gal. Two years ago, for our 20th anniversary, I bought her a 97 guards red 993 with 48k miles. I guess the "correct" thing to do is buy your wife a new car. Instead, I got her a 13 year-old car. People give me flack about it, but it's exactly what she wanted. Last night out of the blue she said, "I really miss my car." It's been in winter storage for about 3 weeks. I think she'll like the clock. I hope it's nice enough that she'll put it on her desk at work. Again, thanks for the help. I'll post some pictures of the final product.

Your wife definitely sounds like a keeper, Rob! I used a clock out of an SC in mine, as I think the slightly cleaner look is good for a clock. No lighting hooked up, but the wiring is super simple. Mine is in a 993 engine fan.

Well, here are the finished clocks. My wife loves hers. They took only 22 hours to build. Next year she's getting a gift certificate for Christmas.
