"Annoying" isn't the key...the "unnecessary" part is. It only has to extend again seconds later.

How the spoiler control module should work:

As you slow through 15 km/h, the spoiler should not retract and a timer starts.
If after 5 or so minutes, you're not above 80 km/h again, then the spoiler should retract and the timer resets.
If anytime after the timer starts (but before the 5 minute mark is reached), 80 km/h is surpassed, the timer resets.

Easy!

I take it that means it continues to fully extend and remains extended.
one tap will bring it full out and leave it there until the car is turned off, then the module either resumes a normal automatic cycle or you tap the rocker again. when i try it below 20mph i find this method doesnt work.
so much to comment on in this thread but im biting my lip... u guys kill me.

what are all the clocks and levers for????

and since we're all just pulling theoretical data out of our collective asses, i'll join... im sure at some point, there is air separation (like boundary layer separation) from the rear end of the car, thus reducing airflow into the compartment, which is why i suspect it flattens to an up position to catch more of the airflow before the stream pulls away. at what speed this actually happens, who knows...

I know; see post #10.

But I was discussing what the spoiler control module should have done right from Porsche. Maybe Tore wants to add to his slew of useful products.

Now lets talk RV-4s. Now that is a treat to fly.

For me, it's just the fact that I think it's ***-ugly in the up position....So, given there's no discernable difference in its effects at the speeds I tend to drive, I've disabled it...But again, that's just me.

FYI - I've prototyped a programmable module...in the middle of testing it.
