Looking at some online videos of brightness, it seems that some are not as safe for road use. maybe some recommendation of specs for those that have a safe option.

Not to hijack, but what I want are super bright high-beams. Not so much for night driving but for flashing people going slow in the freaking fast lane!
These are LED.

A past issue of Hemmings Sports and Exotic Cars had a blurb about a company that sells a complete set of LEDs along with the appropriate relays for turn signals, etc. for a number of "classic" cars. I checked the web site and they had a complete set of LEDs and relays for 993s, but the cost was approximately $500 and I decided it wasn't worth it given the type of driving I do. These are bulbs and relays that fit existing 993 external lighting (Not the instrument panel). I'll see if I can find the reference.
EDIT: This set did not include headlamps.
